Riverdale is a great community where nature, recreation and history come together. It is a beautiful place to visit, vacation and call "home".
The US Army Corps of Engineers turned the townsite over in 1986 making Riverdale the newest incorporated city in the state. Some refer to Riverdale as "North Dakota's best-kept secret".

The Riverdale landfill is generally available from May - October. Hours are Wednesdays from 4:00 - 6:00 and the first Saturday of the month from 10:00 - 12:00. Changes may occur due to holidays or inclement weather.
Circle Sanitation, Minot, is the city's garbage contractor. Collection is once per week on Wednesdays with pickup beginning early in the morning.
City ordinance requires annual licenses for dogs and cats which are due January 1st. Fees are $5.00 for dogs, $2.00 for neutered cats and $10.00 for non-neutered cats.
